In the history of Lutherans and Presbyterians, Grace Good Shepherd is unique and special. The witness to our oneness in Christ shines forth from GGS. We are Christians from different denominations, especially Lutheran and Presbyterian, worshiping together as one congregation.
Good Shepherd Presbyterian church was organized in 1959, and Grace Lutheran in 1965. In 1972, Good Shepherd and Grace Congregations began worshiping together as one congregation. Since 1972, the Christian family known as Grace Good Shepherd has grown stronger, as have the relationships to the Lutheran and Presbyterian denominations. GGS is an ecumenical church, where people from different denominations are welcome and included in the family of faith.
Grace Good Shepherd has been growing like a family since 1972. Presbyterians have learned to love and trust Lutherans and vice versa. Roman Catholics, Methodists, Episcopalians, and others have found a compassionate faith of substance and depth at GGS.
